We recently had the pleasure of providing wedding photography for Francesca and Alan, who celebrated their marriage with a legal wedding ceremony at York House in Twickenham, followed by their wedding banquet at The Magpie in Sunbury.

It was a wonderful afternoon filled with emotion, laughter, family and plenty of happy moments. Although their wedding photography coverage was around five hours, there was more than enough time to capture the story of their day from the ceremony through to the evening celebrations.

A Legal Wedding Ceremony at York House, Twickenham

The afternoon began at York House in Twickenham, where Francesca and Alan held their legal wedding ceremony.

York House is one of those locations that works beautifully for wedding photography. The historic town house, surrounding gardens and green spaces provide a variety of backgrounds without requiring the couple to travel between different locations.

This was actually our third wedding at York House, and we are always happy to return. Every couple brings something different to the venue, and we enjoy photographing the atmosphere created by these intimate town house weddings.

For Francesca and Alan, the ceremony was full of emotion and happiness as they officially became husband and wife.

Natural and Candid Wedding Photography

Francesca and Alan did not require wedding videography for their day, which gave us the opportunity to approach their photography coverage slightly differently.

Instead of using a second photographer for video related work, our second photographer concentrated on candid and natural photography. While the main photographer focused on the couple and the key formal photographs, the second photographer looked for the spontaneous moments happening around them.

These included reactions from family members and friends, conversations between guests, smiles, laughter and all those little interactions that can easily disappear once the wedding day is over.

For us, wedding photography is not only about photographing the couple. It is also about documenting the people who came to celebrate with them.

Confetti, Group Photographs and Couple Portraits

After the ceremony, everyone gathered for the confetti photographs before we moved on to the family and group photographs.

We then spent some time photographing Francesca and Alan together around York House.

The building itself provided a beautiful traditional backdrop, while the surrounding gardens and green spaces gave us the opportunity to create more relaxed couple portraits.

We always try to give couples a mixture of photographs. Some images are more traditional and carefully composed, while others are relaxed and natural. This combination helps create a complete collection that reflects both the elegance of the wedding and the personalities of the couple.

From Twickenham to Sunbury

After the photographs at York House, we travelled to Sunbury for the wedding banquet at The Magpie.

Located beside the River Thames, The Magpie has a very different atmosphere from the historic town house setting of York House. The traditional British pub environment created a relaxed and welcoming setting for Francesca and Alan to continue their celebrations with their guests.

The change of location also gave us the opportunity to capture a different part of their wedding story.

The day continued with the cake cutting, first dance and plenty of dancing and celebration with family and friends.

A Romantic Sunset Couple Shoot by the River Thames

One of our favourite parts of the day came later, when we took Francesca and Alan outside for another couple photography session.

The area around the River Thames and Sunbury Park provided a beautiful setting for romantic portraits, particularly as the light began to change towards sunset.

We also used our professional drone to capture photographs from above, where weather and location conditions allowed. This gave us another perspective of the couple and the surrounding riverside landscape.

The combination of the river, greenery, evening light and the couple together created a very different feeling from the earlier photographs at York House.

This is one reason we enjoy wedding photography in the surrounding areas of South West London and Surrey. A wedding day can contain several different visual environments without requiring a destination wedding or complicated travel arrangements.

Family Moments with Their Daughter

Francesca and Alan's little daughter was also an important part of their wedding photographs.

Some of the sweetest photographs from the day were the natural family moments between her and her parents, including photographs with her mother and photographs with her father.

These photographs are particularly meaningful because they document more than the wedding itself. They record the family as they were at this particular moment in their lives.

Years from now, these images will be part of the family's visual history and will bring back memories of the people, places and emotions surrounding the wedding day.

A Relaxed English Wedding in Twickenham and Sunbury

From the legal ceremony at York House to the celebrations at The Magpie, Francesca and Alan's wedding was a lovely example of a relaxed classic English wedding.

The combination of historic architecture, gardens, the River Thames, family photographs, candid guest moments, romantic couple portraits and evening celebrations gave us plenty of opportunities to tell their story through photography.

We were delighted to be part of their day and to return to York House once again.

We expect we will be back in the future, as new couples continue to choose York House for their wedding ceremonies. We always enjoy returning to familiar venues because every couple creates a completely different story there.

After saying goodbye to Francesca, Alan and their guests, we made our way back towards Richmond and enjoyed a walk along the riverside before returning to the studio.

We wish Francesca and Alan many more wonderful years of love, happiness and family adventures together.

A Classic English Wedding at York House Twickenham & The Magpie Sunbury:  We provided wedding photography for Francesca and Alan's beautiful British style white wedding, beginning with their legal ceremony at York House in Twickenham and continuing with their wedding banquet at The Magpie in Sunbury beside the River Thames.

The approximately five hour wedding included the ceremony, confetti, family photographs, couple portraits, cake cutting, first dance and dancing. The couple did not require wedding videography, so we used two photographers, allowing us to capture both the main events and natural candid moments between the couple and their guests.

York House provided a beautiful setting for their ceremony and portraits, with its historic architecture, gardens and green surroundings. This was our third wedding at York House, and we are always delighted to return.

We travelled to The Magpie in Sunbury for the reception. We photographed the celebrations before taking the couple outside for another romantic session beside the River Thames and around Sunbury Park during sunset.

A Beautiful Christmas Family Photography Experience in Central London

Last Christmas, we had the pleasure of photographing and filming a lovely Indian family who travelled from Manchester to London to celebrate a very special milestone: their 10th wedding anniversary.

The couple, who have been living in Manchester for around three years, both work as doctors within the UK healthcare system. They travelled to London with their adorable and energetic little daughter, combining their anniversary celebration with a memorable London family photography and videography experience.

For the husband, this was more than simply a photography session. He wanted to give his wife a meaningful anniversary gift: professional photographs and a beautiful video that would preserve their family's memories for many years to come.

We spent around four hours together exploring some of the most recognisable locations in central London, surrounded by the magical Christmas atmosphere.

Getting Ready at Zedwell Piccadilly Circus

We first met the family at Zedwell Piccadilly Circus, where they were getting ready for their special day.

Their daughter was already full of energy, bringing plenty of fun and laughter to the beginning of our family photography and videography session.

While they were getting ready, we helped them choose and coordinate their outfits. They wanted to combine beautiful traditional Indian clothing with modern Western outfits, giving us several different styles and moods to capture throughout the day.

The modern interior and stylish reception area of Zedwell Piccadilly Circus also provided a lovely starting point for some photographs before we headed outside.

Christmas Family Photography at Trafalgar Square

We began our outdoor London family photography session just before sunset. We wanted to capture some natural daylight before the Christmas lights and evening atmosphere became the main feature of our photographs.

Our first stop was Trafalgar Square, where the Christmas decorations and festive atmosphere provided a wonderful London backdrop.

We photographed the whole family together, as well as individual portraits of the couple and their daughter. We also captured plenty of natural interactions between them, allowing their personalities and family connection to come through rather than making every photograph feel posed.

From Trafalgar Square, we continued towards Leicester Square and Covent Garden, enjoying the Christmas atmosphere and photographing the family amongst the lights, decorations and lively streets of central London.

Exploring Covent Garden and Leicester Square

Christmas in London creates such a unique atmosphere for family photography.

The lights, decorations, architecture and busy streets provide countless opportunities for photographs that feel distinctly London.

As we walked through Covent Garden and Leicester Square, we captured a mixture of family portraits, couple photographs and candid moments with their little daughter.

She brought so much energy to the session that there was never a dull moment!

For us, these natural family interactions are just as important as the formal portraits. Years later, photographs showing a child's personality and the way a family interacts can become some of the most treasured memories.

A Second Outfit and Hotel Café Royal

After exploring central London, we returned to Zedwell Piccadilly Circus for another outfit change.

We then continued to one of London's most elegant and iconic hotels, Hotel Café Royal, located in the heart of Piccadilly.

The family enjoyed a beautiful traditional English afternoon tea, presented on an elegant three-tier stand with sandwiches and desserts, accompanied by classic champagne glasses.

This gave us a completely different setting from the outdoor Christmas photography.

As the couple raised their champagne glasses to celebrate ten years of marriage, we captured their anniversary celebration through both professional photography and videography.

It was a particularly fun moment because our professional lighting equipment attracted quite a bit of attention from people passing outside the hotel. Some people seemed to wonder whether they were looking at a special celebration taking place!

Romantic Anniversary Photography on Regent Street

After their celebration at Hotel Café Royal, we continued towards Regent Street.

With London's famous Christmas lights stretching above the street, it created an especially romantic setting for their 10th wedding anniversary photography.

We photographed the couple walking together, embracing and sharing romantic moments beneath the Christmas decorations.

One of our favourite moments was capturing them sharing a romantic kiss in the middle of the pavement while vehicles passed along Regent Street beside them.

The combination of their natural chemistry, the Christmas lights, London's architecture and the movement of the street created a wonderfully cinematic atmosphere for their anniversary photographs and video.

Classic London Portraits Around Hyde Park

For the final part of the session, the family travelled towards Hyde Park in their own luxury car.

They wanted to create a more sophisticated set of photographs with an elegant, classic British feel, so their car became an important part of the final portraits.

We photographed the couple and family around the vehicle, creating a different visual style from the colourful Christmas scenes in central London.

The final photographs had a more timeless and luxurious London feel, giving their four-hour photography and videography experience a beautiful variety of locations and styles.

Four Hours of London Family Photography and Videography

Although our session lasted around four hours, we covered a lot of London together.

Apart from the final Hyde Park section, much of the experience was completed on foot while we carried our professional cameras, lenses, lighting equipment and other photography gear.

We moved between Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square, Covent Garden and Regent Street before continuing to Hotel Café Royal and finally Hyde Park.

It was certainly a busy and physically tiring session, but it was also great fun.

Most importantly, the family were relaxed, friendly and enjoyable to work with, and their daughter's energy brought an extra sense of fun to the whole experience.

Why London Makes Such a Wonderful Anniversary Photography Location

London offers an incredible variety of backgrounds for anniversary photography and family photography.

Within a relatively small area, we can move from historic architecture and famous squares to elegant streets, Christmas decorations, luxury hotels and beautiful parks.

For this family, we were able to combine traditional Indian clothing, modern Western outfits, Christmas London, English afternoon tea, champagne, romantic couple portraits and classic British-style photographs into one experience.

This variety is one of the reasons we love photographing families and couples in London.

From Manchester to London for a Special Family Memory

Although the family now live in Manchester, they chose London for this special anniversary experience.

Travelling from Manchester gave them the opportunity to turn their anniversary into a memorable London family adventure rather than simply having a conventional anniversary celebration.

For families visiting London from Manchester or elsewhere in the UK, a professional London family photographer and videographer can help turn a short visit into a collection of photographs and films that can be treasured long after the trip has finished.

For an Indian family, incorporating traditional Indian clothing into London's iconic surroundings can also create a beautiful combination of cultural identity and British scenery.

Finally Sharing Their Photographs and Video

We actually completed and delivered their photographs and video a long time ago.

However, after a very busy period of wedding photography and videography, including shooting, editing, delivering our couples' work and sharing their stories across our different platforms, we are only now finally sharing this beautiful family session.

We are delighted that we can finally show some of their photographs and tell the story of their special day.

Most importantly, they absolutely loved their photographs and their video highlight.

That is always the most rewarding part for us.

Christmas at Trafalgar Square and Ten Years of Love

There is something incredibly special about London at Christmas, especially when you have a wonderful family celebrating ten years of marriage.

Last Christmas, we photographed and filmed this lovely Indian couple and their little daughter during a special four-hour anniversary experience.

They travelled from Manchester to London, where both parents work as doctors in the UK healthcare system.

The husband wanted to give his wife a memorable anniversary gift, so we created a photography and videography experience covering some of the most beautiful areas around central London.

We began at Zedwell Piccadilly Circus, where the family were getting ready and preparing different outfits.

We suggested a combination of traditional Indian clothing and modern Western styles, allowing us to create several different looks throughout the day.

Then we headed to Trafalgar Square just before sunset.

The Christmas market, decorations and seasonal atmosphere gave us beautiful opportunities to capture the family enjoying London together.

We continued through Leicester Square and Covent Garden before reaching Regent Street, where the Christmas lights became one of the main features of the evening.

After returning to Zedwell Piccadilly Circus to change outfits again, we went to Hotel Café Royal.

The family enjoyed traditional English afternoon tea and champagne while we photographed and filmed their anniversary celebration.

Their little daughter brought so much energy to the day, while her parents enjoyed a romantic champagne toast celebrating ten years together.

We then photographed the couple sharing romantic moments along Regent Street, surrounded by London's Christmas lights.

For our final location, we went towards Hyde Park in their luxury car and created elegant portraits with a sophisticated British atmosphere.

We covered a lot of ground during those four hours, most of it on foot while carrying professional cameras and lighting equipment.

It was tiring, but incredibly enjoyable.

We are so pleased that they loved the photographs and video highlight.

Both parents are doctors working in the UK healthcare system, and they travelled to London with their energetic little daughter to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary.

We began at Hotel Café Royal, helping the family choose a mixture of traditional Indian and modern Western outfits. We then photographed and filmed around Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square, Covent Garden and Regent Street, capturing family moments, romantic anniversary portraits and London's beautiful Christmas atmosphere.

After an outfit change, we returned to Hotel Café Royal for a traditional English afternoon tea and champagne celebration before continuing with romantic photographs beneath the Christmas lights on Regent Street.

Our final location was around Hyde Park, where their luxury car became part of the elegant British inspired portraits.
