We have provided wedding photography and bridal party hair & makeup services to lovely Hong Kong bride, bridesmaids and relative. The bridal party first got ready in an B&B in Covent Garden. The bridal party, groomsmen and the groom had the challenges - door game, before the groom able to see the bride.

This beautiful Hong Kong bride and groom then had tea ceremony with the bride's side parents before heading to the groom's side family for another part of tea ceremony in Islington area. After the tea ceremony, we arrived The Old Marylebone Town Hall to witness the couple's wedding ceremony. And their modern banquet was held in Sea Containers by the River Thames, a rather romantic location where we enjoyed the city view at night.

Although there was not much restriction, we were still in the pandemic. We were lucky to be with them the whole day to witness the important day. We started early in the morning to do the hair and makeup for the bride and bridal party. This bride is a special bride for us, because she wanted very natural look for her hair styling.
Her mother said it looks like the bride's style looks much 'simpler' than the bridesmaids'! She is right, however, we understood the reason afterwards when she put on a black biker jacket. Her style is a clash of sweet, simple and rock and roll! For us, it is important the bride is happy with her hair and makeup, because the confidence does show on photos. In their door game session, there was so much laughters and joy.
The highlight for us was the groom needed to play treasure hunt, finding the bride's shoes. He finally found them in a washing machine! In Chinese, 'taking the shoes' is a slang which kind of sounds humiliating. Great job Bridesmaids! Of course, we know that's for teasing the groom. For the bride, the highlight is most likely the 'first look'. The groom had to stand outside the door, confess his love and say his promises to the bride. The bride approved the speech and let him see her. This is a Chinese tradition, how we do a 'first look'. After that, they had a quick tea ceremony.
Later on we altogether went to the groom's parent home in Islington, visited his side of the family for having another tea ceremony there. It was a busier, longer ceremony. After it was done, the family provided us traditional Chinese style sweet and salty 'wife cake'. They were very delicious and yummy!
Then we went to The Old Marylebone Town Hall for the ceremony party of wedding and around the town hall romantic bridal and bride & groom couple photoshoots. The couple was a bit shy with each other in the beginning, because it is unusual for them to show affection in public, but after a few shots, they were so much more relax.
When we were in The Old Marylebone Town Hall, we experienced the first fire alarm rang in decades! As the Town Hall is a popular wedding venue, there were a few brides and grooms wait outside the Town Hall for roughly an hour. It became an interesting memory for us.
Lastly we went to Sea Containers at the South Bank of River Thames for their banquet, cake cutting and banquet photos. It is a chic, modern venue! We went to the roof top and took some photos of the couple in the evening. This venue is just located next to OXO Tower. The neon lights, combined the background building lights have created a romantic scene for our couple. It was very romantic.
We wish them a happy married life ever after. Hope that we can meet them up to take their lovely pregnancy and newborn baby photos in the near future.
