DIY Hair Extension

Hi there,

This week, we would like to talk a little bit about hair styling. If you have short hair, but wish to have a long hair look for your photo shoot with us, please take a look of this tutorial, hope this can help you.

Step by step guide to make your own hair extension pieces.
Cheap, Fun, 100% Usable
STEP1: Read the package, especially the material and care label. Is it 100% human hair or man-made hair? How much heat can be applied for setting the style? Open the pack with care. Normally you can see two bunches inside the pack.
STEP2: Divide the bunches and align the hair. Usually one pack should be enough for making 1 large extension piece, 1 medium piece and 2 small pieces. If you like, you can add highlights into the hair to create interesting effects.
STEP3: Set your sewing machine to sew zig zag stitches with 2.5 for stitch length and 3 for the width.
STEP4: Leave 1 inch for the allowance and start sewing. Sew at least 4 times on the same line to secure the hair.
STEP5: Set flat iron to the temperature recommended on the package for setting the hair. Fold the 1 inch allowance to the back of the piece and iron it to keep it down.
STEP6: Set the sewing machine to zig zag stitch with 2 in length and 5 in width.
STEP7: Align the top to the presser foot and sew the top part of the piece. And your end product should look like the one in below picture, which is ready to pin in between your hair layers.
Hope you enjoy this tutorial! Feel free to share with us your DIY piece!
